Materials and care
Our materials
At Silva Jóias, we carefully select each piece, seeking to combine elegance, quality, and versatility.
Our collections include pieces in 925 sterling silver, gold-plated silver, stainless steel, and gold-plated steel, complemented by cubic zirconia, natural stones, or pearls.
The specific composition of each item is indicated on its respective product page.
Comfort and durability
Our pieces are produced with nickel-free materials and selected to provide comfortable wear.
Pieces identified as hypoallergenic are designed to reduce the risk of skin reactions. However, each person may have different sensitivities, so it is not possible to guarantee the total absence of reactions.
Many of our pieces are resistant to occasional contact with water. Even so, water resistance does not mean they are completely waterproof. To preserve their shine and finish for longer, we recommend avoiding baths, swimming pools, seawater, and prolonged contact with humidity.
925 Sterling silver
925 sterling silver is composed of 92.5% silver, combined with other metals to increase its strength.
Over time, silver may naturally darken due to contact with air, humidity, perspiration, or cosmetics. This change is natural and does not mean the piece has lost quality.
To restore its shine, use a soft cloth designed for cleaning silver.
Gold-plated pieces
Gold-plated pieces have a layer of gold applied over another metal, such as 925 sterling silver or stainless steel.
The longevity of the finish depends on the frequency of use, skin type, and care taken with the piece. Frequent contact with water, perfume, creams, perspiration, and chemical products can accelerate the wear of the plating.
Stainless steel
Stainless steel is a resistant material suitable for frequent use. Despite its durability, we recommend appropriate care to preserve the finish and shine for longer.
Cubic zirconia, natural stones, and pearls
Cubic zirconia provides shine and luminosity to the pieces. They should be cleaned gently with a soft cloth, avoiding abrasive products.
Natural stones may have small differences in color, shape, and texture. These variations are part of their nature and make each piece unique.
Pearls are particularly delicate. Avoid contact with perfume, creams, chemical products, and abrasive surfaces.
How to care for your jewelry
- Avoid contact with perfume, creams, makeup, and cleaning products.
- Remove pieces before bathing, swimming, or exercising.
- Avoid wearing pieces while sleeping.
- Clean them gently with a dry, soft cloth after use.
- Store each piece separately in a dry place protected from light.
- Avoid storing jewelry in humid places, such as the bathroom.
- Do not use abrasive products or stiff brushes.
We recommend that jewelry be the last thing you put on before leaving and the first thing you take off when you return.
